Dutch land-based yellowtail farmer The Kingfish Company has appointed Christo du Plessis as its chief financial officer (CFO).
He has been with the company since January of 2019 and has been acting CFO since of November 2020. He will formally replace Itay Young on June of this year, according to the company.
Prior to joining the Kingfish Company, he served as CFO with Klein Karoo Europe, part of the Klein Karoo International group of companies based in South Africa, the world's largest producer of ostrich meat product.
The Kingfish Company reported a healthy first quarter of 2021, with sales volumes surging 92 percent year-on-year and price levels remaining strong.
The company, which announced new listings in Whole Foods in the United States and Hello Fresh in Europe during the quarter, noted the resilience of its products over the period.
