Feed giant Nutreco has hired Joost Matthijssen as its new chief strategy officer following the departure of Laurent Genet.

Matthijssen was most recently director of business development at Nutreco's investment arm, NuFrontiers.

Before joining Nutreco in 2018, Matthijssen worked at the Boston Consulting Group as a project leader.

Genet began working for the Dutch feed company in 2007.

NuFrontier, which was set up in 2017, typically makes two to three investments per year.

Last year, it invested in Norwegian land-based salmon company Andfjord Salmon, Scotland-based Roslin Technologies and acquired a majority stake in India-based shrimp group Eruvaka after having been a minority investor since 2018.

Roslin Technologies is a provider of animal cell lines to the emerging cultivated meat sector. NuFrontier invested in its series A financing round.
