Chinese food safety authorities seized three batches of frozen shrimps injected with gelatin from a wet market in southern China, reportsSouth China Morning Post.
The shrimp bodies and head were glued together by edible gelatin -- often used to make jellies and other desserts -- reportedly to make the shrimp look healthier and cover rotten meat.
According to the vendor of the product, this isn't an uncommon practice in the market.
