Aquaculture feed giant Skretting estimates around 975,000 metric tons of additional feed will be needed to meet the recent boom in land-based salmon projects.
The figure is an estimate based on a feed conversion ratio of 1.16 and the anticipated 840,000 metric tons of land-based salmon projected by 2031, Skretting Global Commercial Manager for Closed System Farming Stian Rognlid told IntraFish.
