The first conventional netpen salmon farming company is making the leap into land-based production by partnering on a NOK 600 million (€55.8 million/$63 million) project slated to produce up to 15,000 metric tons of fish.

Helgeland, Norway-based Kvaroy Fiskeoppdrett, a small, family-owned operation, will become an investor and partner with Arctic Seafarm, a group with plans to construct a facility in Langset in Norway's Nordland region.
