Aqua Feed, a privately owned Russian company, will launch a 50,000-metric-ton-per-year feed plant in March, taking the country a step closer to its goal of being able to provide 90 percent of its aquafeed requirements by the end of the decade.

More than RUB 1.6 billion (€15.2 million/$15.7 million) has been invested in the new plant, which will provide feed for domestic producers of salmon, trout and sturgeon, the government of the Russian republic of Karelia said in a statement.
