The feed industry is at an inflection point where the adoption of alternative ingredients such as single-cell proteins by producers is just around the corner, according to Alan Shaw, the CEO of Calysta, one of the pioneers in the sector.

Calysta, which expects the first phase of its Feedkind single-cell protein plant to start production in China before the end of next year, has invested heavily in research, development and production of its ingredients, and Shaw said new partnerships are driving the company forward at a rapid pace.
