US supermarket chain Raley’s Family of Fine Stores expects to have all of its seafood supplied from sustainable sources by 2017, the company announced. The retailer is using a new sustainable seafood symbol to help shoppers identify fish and shellfish sourced from certified fisheries or farm programs.
By 2017, Raley’s said, it will only source from fisheries or farm programs with one of these certifications: the Global Aquaculture Association; the Marine Stewardship Council; the Aquaculture Stewardship Council; or the Alaska Responsible Fisheries Management.
