UK crowns 2015 best fish and chip restaurant

Frankie’s Fish & Chips in Brae, Scotland, on Tuesday was named the best fish and chip shop in the United Kingdom at the 2015 National Fish & Chip Awards, organized by Seafish, the UK’s largest seafood trade association.

To earn the Independent Takeaway Fish and Chip Shop of the Year award, the winner went through a “rigorous, multi-stage judging process” over the past few months.

In addition to wining the top prize, Frankie’s was also awarded the Marine Stewardship Council and Marine Conservation Society’s Good Catch Sustainable Seafood Award, which rewards fish and chip shops that have made a conscious effort to change the way in which they responsibly source and promote their fish and in doing so, help protect the industry for the future.
