Philippines canned tuna giant Century Pacific Food (CNPF) will invest PHP 1.8 billion (€28.9 million/$33.7 million) in the expansion of its tuna canning plant in General Santos City expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2019, the company said.
“We think the efficient scale for a new plant will be between 50 to 100 metric tons of tuna produced a day,” said Christopher Po, executive chairman of CNPF.
“Once we finished this plant, it will satisfy our requirements for the next three to five years.”
