Last month, Turkish company Sagun invited IntraFish on a tour through its newly opened processing plant in Izmir, which cost a total of €7 million ($7.9 million) to build.

The 6,000 square meter plant started operations in July, 2016, and is expected to operate at full capacity in the coming year. The aim is to create 85 new jobs in the area.

The facility is equipped with technology developed by Turkish manufacturers and is kitted out to process seabass, seabream in its different forms: whole, fillet, and gutted; as well as bluefin tuna.
