In September, Icelandic Group announced plans to sell its subsidiary Ny-Fiskur, located in Sandgerdi, Iceland, as part of its "strategy to simplify its operations."

Ny-Fiskur specializes in the production and sale of fresh cod and haddock, processing around 6,000 metric tons of raw material annually.

The company -- which was acquired by Icelandic in 2013 -- distributes a significant portion of its products, with air freight, to customers mainly in Belgium and other European countries.

IntraFish sat down with Managing Director Thorstein Magnusson to talk about his vision for Ny-Fiskur's future.
