IntraFish visited Seatrade's new 66,000-square foot scallop processing facility Tuesday in New Bedford, Massachusetts.

The scallop firm acquired the former Mar-Lees scallop plant in January and relocated its fresh scallop processing operations from the South Street New Bedford facility to the new waterfront one.

Seatrade continues to operate its frozen scallop processing facility in Lakeville, Massachusetts.

The company also hopes to process lobster products at the facility as well, which may increase the employment base to as many as 200 employees.
