A group of businessmen are investing NOK 300 million (€32.7 million/$35.2 million) into a new pelagic factory in Egersund, the same town where Norwegian seafood giant Pelagia is based, with the ultimate goal of producing food for human consumption.
Processing entrepreneur Anbjorn Oglend has fully funded the factory, which will initially produce high-quality marine proteins and oils on Kaupanes in Egersund.
"This is a high-tech factory with much automation and fewer helmets," said Oglend during a press conference in Stavanger last week.
