Marine Harvest's Dallas processing plant is almost ready to begin operations, Managing Director for the Americas Gianfranco Nattero told IntraFish.

"We're still waiting for a few operational things to be resolved and we'll need to test the equipment and everything," Nattero said, but added the Texas plant should be up and running by the first week of 2017 at the latest.

The plant will have a total production capacity rivaling Marine Harvest's Los Angeles and Miami facilities, roughly 500,000 to 600,000 pounds per week.
