Lerøy Midt announced Friday it signed a contract with food processing machinery supplier Baader to equip Lerøy’s new salmon factory Jøsnøya on Hitra.
With a future capacity of 100,000 metric tons of salmon annually, the new factory will open in May 2018 and Baader will supply its new gutting machines Baader 144 with a new speed feed system Baader 1570, which Lerøy Midt Production Director Frode Arntsen calls a “money maker” because of its improved efficiency.
The machine has a working range of 2 to 11 kg, and guts are removed without any water contamination.
