Icelandic food equipment manufacturer Marel saw a turnaround to a soft year in 2016 with a supply order from salmon farmer Leroy in what is one of the “largest fish industry contracts to date,” the company said.

Marel will deliver a logistics system, a packing system for whole fresh salmon and five filleting lines to Leroy’s new processing facility in Josnoya, Norway, in early in 2018.

The plant will have an annual capacity of over 100,000 metric tons all and will feature the latest salmon processing technology.
