Portuguese processor Gelpeixe, which is fully owned by the Tarré family, operates a state-of-the art fish and seafood processing facility in Loures, near Lisbon.

Around 25 to 30 metric tons of finished products are manufactured every day but capacity is at 50 metric tons per shift, Ricardo Figueiredo, head of production production at Gelpeixe, told IntraFish during a tour of the premises.

The production area spans about 1,000 square meters. Adjacent to it is "one of the biggest coldstore warehouses" in Portugal, as Figueiredo called it.
