Kloosterboer, Europe’s largest cold storage operator, said it is ready to start up activities in Germany, after acquiring a 51 percent stake in Bremerhavener Cold Store, which is part of BLG Logistics Group, in December.
After the deal was approved by authorities in February, Kloosterboer will operate under Kloosterboer BLG Coldstore GmbH at Bremerhaven’s container terminal with a cold-store facility featuring a capacity of 29,000 pallets.
In addition, it plans to construct a cold-store facility at Bremerhaven’s Fischereihafen. The exact start date for the construction is not yet known, however, operations are scheduled to start in the the first half of 2018.
