THERE are 17 species of valuable swimming crab in Vietnamese waters; the most well known of which is the blue (sometimes also called green ) swimming crab called ghe xanh in the native language or Portunus pelagicus in Latin. The second most well known and used swimming crab is the three spotted ghe ba cham or Portunus sanguinolentus.
