Newfoundland and Labrador-based Grand Bank Seafoods, a division of Clearwater Seafoods, announced Wednesday it invested in a CAD 350,000 ($265,366/€236,441), 25-person prime cut line to support growth in Europe and North America.

The company produces Arctic surf, Northern propeller and cockle clams.

Clearwater acquired Grand Bank Seafoods' Arctic Surf Clam operation in 1991 and today, Grand Bank Seafoods' clam operation has grown to a CAD 100 million ($75.8 million/€67.6 million) yearly export business.

Grand Bank Seafoods is one of the only year-round seafood processing facilities in Newfoundland and Labrador and employs 258 fishermen on Clearwater's fleet of offshore clam vessels and 115 plant workers.
