The new BioMar-Sagun fish feed factory, based in Söke, Turkey, officially opened Thursday.

The plant, a joint-venture between Danish feed company BioMar and Turkish seafood company Sagun, has a 50,000-metric-ton production capacity and will supply locally produced feeds, including grower feeds for trout, seabass and seabream.

Other more specialized feed types in the BioMar-Sagun product portfolio, such as hatchery diets and fry feeds, will be produced at other BioMar factories and distributed through BioMar-Sagun.

BioMar-Sagun will mainly serve Turkey, but will export product to neighboring countries.
