US global meat supplier Tyson in September plans to shutter a processing plant in Wisconsin that was part of its Keystone Foods division.

The plant, part of the $2.16 billion (€1.9 billion) acquisition of the group from Brazilian food supplier Marfrig in 2018, provided foodservice items, including breaded fish, to some of the world's leading quick-service restaurant chains that include McDonald's.

"As part of ongoing efforts to focus on the strategic plans of our business, we plan to discontinue operations at our Jefferson, Wisconsin, plant in mid-September," Derek Burleson, public relations manager at Tyson, told IntraFish.
