Canadian frozen food giant High Liner Foods said raw material shortages related to the global shipping container crisis cost the company between 3-4 million pounds worth of product sales in the second quarter.

The biggest headache for processors at the moment is being able to get raw materials from A to B in the requisite timeframe rather than the lack of availability of species.

The logistics disruptions have forced High Liner to reduce promotional activities and strategically allocate products, fearing it otherwise might not be able to make good on all of its customer commitments, costing millions in the process.
