Pangasius giant Vinh Hoan invests in cell-based seafood producer

Cell-based meat and seafood producer Shiok Meats has raised a bridge funding round from South Korea’s leading food industry players Woowa Brothers Asia Holdings and CJ CheilJedang and Vietnam’s top seafood exporter Vinh Hoan.

Earlier this year Vinh Hoan acquired Vinh Technology, a Singapore company with a minority stake in cell-based meat and seafood company Avant.

Through the purchase, Vinh Hoan, the world's largest pangasius producer, is establishing a strategic partnership with Avant to accelerate commercialization of cultivated fish proteins, leveraging its global sales network and industrial manufacturing capability.
