An Ocean Beauty Seafoods worker who had recently traveled to the Prince William Sound region from outside of Alaska has tested positive for the coronavirus, officials said Wednesday.

It is the first publicly reported case of the coronavirus infecting an employee working at an Alaska seafood processing plant, and the first reported case in the city of Cordova, according to the Anchorage Daily News.

The worker was asymptomatic, but his case was caught by his company’s routine testing of employees at the facility, Ocean Beauty Seafoods President Mark Palmer said in a KLAM radio briefing Wednesday afternoon.
