Prices for farmed salmon in the US market are settling into a period of stability after fluctuating over recent months, but salmon suppliers say prices may begin to rise as lower supply and rising demand combine.

Market sources put D-Trim filets FOB Miami in a range between $5.60-$5.80 (€4.84-€5.02) per pound, although there is also talk of numbers as high as $6.20 (€5.36) per pound, depending on customer requirements.

Larger sizes are reportedly more scarce than they were a year ago because of an overhaul of Chilean biomass regulations that has driven producers to harvest salmon at lighter weights.
