Buyers balk at Norwegian salmon prices

Buyers of Norwegian salmon are holding off on purchases as prices rebound to high levels.

IntraFish talked to several different exporters and by 13:30 CET, several said the price is already up over NOK 60 ($7.39/€6.63).

"I think the gap is too big between expectations and what customers will pay," said one exporter.

Another told IntraFish he had not bought anything yet and was waiting on prices to adjust.

IntraFish was told the following prices:

• Sizes 2-3 kilos -- NOK 50 ($6.16/€5.52) to NOK 55 ($6.78/€6.07)
