NuFrontiers, the investment arm of global animal nutrition firm Nutreco, hired Maarten-Yan Wierenga as an investment manager in April.

Wierenga was previously the owner of Nairobi-based Chui Capital, a food technology startup and corporate strategy advisory. He was also a mergers and acquisitions manager at Berlin-based Amatheon Agri.

"Both despite and because everything going on around us, we remain committed to making a change in the feed and food value chain," NuFrontiers Director of Venturing Joost Matthijssen said in a LinkedIn post.
