Young's helps langoustine fishery gain MSC certification

Young’s Seafood funded the MSC certification of the Stornoway Western Isles langoustine fishery. This is the second time a FoodVest company has financed the acquisition of an MSC certification, after FIndus France financed the country's first MSC-certified fishery in 2007.

The certification will make “a big difference” to the U.K. langoustine sector, a source at the MSC told IntraFish.

MSC-certified langoustines are available from another Scottish-certified fisher at Loch Torridon, however, much of this product is exported to countries such as Spain.
