According to the Yorkshire Post, Leadbeater was given the award for his work during a year of major change for the firm, most notably the takeover of Swedish frozen food firm Findus.
The takeover significantly boosted the size of Young's, expanded its portfolio of products, and gave it its first foothold in continental Europe.
Executives from Persimmon and Richmond Foods were also nominated.
Ernst & Young, Barclays Bank, Sewell Moorhouse and law firm Hammonds sponsored the event.
