Young’s Seafood is launching a new lighter breadcrumb coating for its Classic Wholetail Scampi, specifically for use in foodservice.

The hope is the new coating will help bars and pubs tap into a trend for lighter coatings, reported Bar Magazine.

Offering consistent portion control, the scampi can be cooked in three minutes at 180 degrees Celsius from frozen. It is available in case sizes of 10 x 454 grams.

They can be served as a bar snack or with the traditional accompaniments of chips, peas and tartare sauce or as a starter with a crisp green salad and a fresh wedge of lemon.
