The pie is made with chunks of Alaska pollock in butter sauce with a potato and cheddar cheese topping and was launched back in 1992.
“Admiral’s Pie is already a winning formula -- all we’ve done is add extra fish, which consumer feedback had suggested would be a welcome improvement. We fully expect this one change will bring in even more satisfied customers,” Young’s marketing manager, Matt Whelan said.
The Admiral’s Pie retails at £1.29 (€1.4/$ 1.9) for 340 grams.
It is the best-selling ready meal of any type in the United Kingdom -- with around 14 million sold every year, said the company.
