The continuing saga over Yihe’s receivership and determining which company actually owns the $20 million (€14.9 million) stock of frozen processed salmon is expected to play out Friday in California District Court.
Attorneys for seafood supplier Qingdao Yijia Native Imp. & Exp. Co., Ltd., (Yijia) asked the court to reconsider its recent ruling appointing James Wong, a financial consultant at Yihe, as receiver and giving Wong the ability to sell 114 containers of frozen seafood to pay off creditors.
Yijia’s attorney Mark Fang told IntraFish Monday, “A lot of expiration dates are approaching” for the frozen seafood that he claims belongs to Yijia.
