A new NOK 13 million (€1.5 million/$1.7 million) factory for copepod production will begin operations later this year, serving a potential annual market of NOK 2 billion (€237 million/$264 million) according to owners C-Feed.
The company -- a spin-off from independent Scandinavian research institute SINTEF -- has so far produced copepods, the natural baby food of most marine species, on a small scale in Trondheim, Norway, but when the new plant opens in the autumn, the company will start by increasing its production ten-fold.
