Sudmaris’ organic blue mussels, certified by independent organic association Naturland, will begin appearing on European supermarket shelves during the first half of 2009, Raimundo Costa, commercial director, told IntraFish.
Customer feedback on the news has been excellent, Costa said.
“To us it is clear that organic food is no longer a concept that is related to a very small market segment. We are pretty strong in the retail sector already, and we are definitely looking to increase our market share there through the organic product,” he said.
