Protests on Chiloe Island were focused in Ancud where salmon industry workers from other parts of the island, like Chonchi, Castro and Quemchi, headed.
They all expressed their discontent at government measures, insufficient in their opinion, to halt the impact of unemployment in the area.
There were protests in Puerto Montt, in which a group of workers laid off at AquaChile participated. AquaChile laid off 450 workers on Thursday.
The first group of workers, from Cultivos Marinos Chiloe and Inmuebles Cataluna, gathered at 7 a.m.
