When asked where its standards are, WWF has always preached patience, saying it would take more time for the dialogues to develop standards, since adherence to the standards will be made by independent, third-party certifiers, and because there are more stakeholders involved in their process.

So the ability to finally craft agreement for tilapia, one of the dozen or so species undergoing standards development under the dialogues process, is a good one, says WWF's Aaron McNevin, who oversaw the effort to put tilapia standards in place.
