American officials are hoping other Arctic nations decide to ban fishing in the Arctic portions of their EEZs, but none have yet to voice support the ideal, and some people at this week's International Arctic Fisheries Symposium in Alaska called the move premature.
"Ihink it' an interesting kind of decision. The U.S. introduced a ban somewhere you have never worked before; you haven't fished it," Viacheslav Zilanov, a professor at the Northwest Scientific Research Center of the Sea Policy at Murmansk State Technical University in Russia, told IntraFish.
"We
