Iceland is a potential target for Faroese company Bakkafrost as it looks to invest and grow its business.

Fellow salmon producer SalMar revealed it entered the salmon farming sector in Iceland, through an indirect shareholding in Icelandic producer Arnarlax, and Bakkafrost could follow suit.

"We haven’t given any indication we are considering investing in Iceland, therefore I can’t say anything about what we might do,” Regin Jacobsen, CEO of Bakkafrost, told IntraFish when we asked if the company had similar plans to SalMar.
