In a new report by Mintel Menu Insights, "Kids' and Teens' Restaurant Eating Habits," the market research company looks at all aspects of the children's and young adult dining market -- and nowhere is seafood to be found.

The report breaks down the five dining segments -- casual, family-midscale, quick service, fast-casual, and fine-upscale -- and lists the top five menu choices for kids in each segment. Not one seafood item anywhere.

It gets worse.

Going back to 2005, Mintel charted the top 10 menu items for kids and teens through the first quarter of 2009, and not one mention of seafood.
