Isaksen’s departure will open up a position to lead one of the world’s largest salmon producers. Cermaq, which is listed in Oslo, is the parent company of Norway’s third largest salmon producer, Mainstream, and of aquaculture feed producer Ewos.
As a state-owned company, Cermaq might possibly lean towards a new, Norwegian boss to succeed Isaksen. On the other hand, Cermaq is a global company -- with activities in Chile and Canada -- so the nationality of the new top executive is perhaps not that relevant.
