Whitby Seafoods has scooped up a two star-award award for its Foodservice Whitby Wholetail Scampi at the recent Great Taste Awards, reports The Whitby Gazette.
Judged by more than 500 of the most demanding palates, belonging to food critics, chefs, cooks, restaurateurs and producers as well as food writers and journalists, Great Taste is widely acknowledged as the most respected food accreditation scheme for artisan and speciality food producers.
A Whitby Seafoods spokesman said: “We always say that if a job is worth doing it’s worth doing brilliantly so we are delighted that our Wholetail Whitby Scampi has been awarded with the prestigious Great Taste two-star award.
