Welsh government accused of trying to 'kill off' fishermen

The Welsh government has taken another step towards banning over-10 meter vessels with historic rights from fishing inside the Welsh six-mile limit.

It has notified the European Commission of a draft order authorizing the ban. A three-month standstill period is now underway and if the commission does not raise concerns about the move the Welsh government expects the ban to come into force towards the end of October, or early in November.

North Devon Fishermen’s Association (NDFA) has members in North Devon and South Wales who will be hit by the ban.
