Washington firm wraps up renovation of Alaska pollock vessel
New catcher and processor ship will be 300 feet long.

Anacortes, Washington-based Dakota Creek Industries is adding a 60-foot mid section to the 240-foot catcher and processor vessel Starbound. The work began last November and is set to finish at the end of this month, according to Go Anacortes.
The ship will also get a new main engine, reduction gear, propeller and fish meal plant. About 40 of the vessel's own employees are assisting the build and when at sea, the ship has about 110 workers on board, according to the news site.
