The volume of warmwater shrimp sales at UK retailers was down sharply through the 52 weeks up to Feb. 28, dragged down by both chilled and frozen declines.
Sales fell 21.2 percent to 12,425 metric tons, down from 15,764 metric tons sold the year before.
The value of those sales, meanwhile, fell 5.8 percent to £206 million (€284.3 million/$306.9 million), compared with £219 million (€302.2 million/$326.3 million) recorded in the same period the previous year.
