Wales has a new fisheries minister following the sacking of the former minister Alun Davies (pictured left).

The new minister with direct responsibility for fisheries is Mid and West Wales Assembly Member (AM) Rebecca Evans, while the minister in overall charge of agriculture, fisheries, food and the environment is Edwina Hart, AM for Gower in South Wales.

Evans holds the fisheries brief as part of her portfolio as deputy minister for agriculture.

Among a number of other roles in the Welsh government, Evans has served on the Environment and Sustainable Development Committee and the Common Agricultural Policy Task and Finish Group.
