Brothers Angus and Ivor Johnson, who founded Johnson Seafarms in the 1980s, re-entered the salmon-farming market in April with the establishment of Green Isle Organics, a small-scale organic salmon farm in the Shetland Islands.

Johnson Seafarms, originally established as a conventional salmon farm, began converting its operations to produce organic cod around 2002. Though the Johnson brothers sold out, Ivor Johnson told IntraFish Monday the success of the organic cod project left an impression, and is what drew the brothers back into the business.
