Because of the headaches caused by the disruption of canceled flights and other logistical complexities, and because Norwegian producers sent more salmon out in the first quarter than planned, Marine Harvest said Monday it would cut back on shipments from one harvesting station.

"We are holding back on some harvesting to avoid a sudden increase in supply in Europe," Communications Director Jorgen Christiansen told IntraFish on Monday.

Asked how long the delay would be in place, Christiansen said "it depends on how things develop."
