What was once thought of as the next big thing in US aquaculture is about to be sold off for pennies on the dollar.
Virginia Cobia Farms, rated as a “Best Choice” by the Monterey Bay’s Seafood Watch program and used as a featured ingredient on the hit televison show "Iron Chef America," is set to be sold at auction this fall, following its closure in December last year.
Interested parties can make an offer to purchase the entire company in Saltville, Virginia, which includes its facility, equipment and real estate, prior to the auction held by Woltz and Associates, according to Quinn Thomas, who is managing the auction.
